Surviving Ike

I survived Hurricane Ike and am now waiting for power to come back on in my apt. Until then, Theo and I are staying with friends in my neighborhood.

I rode out the storm at work, where I primarily helped take care of the dogs and cats that staff and their families brought with them. The Clinic suffered little damage, though power was only restored yesterday.

Thanks to all who called to check on me. I'm fine and keeping my fingers crossed that I get power back sooner rather than later!

Visit to VA

Just got back from a visit to VA to celebrate my mom's birthday. Had a great time. Visited with Aunt Evelyn on Friday and drove by her house on Sunday to see if there was any damage done as a result of hurricane Hanna (there wasn't).

Hunter was supposed to have his second chemo treatment yesterday; does anyone know how he made out with it?

Tom and Fran - hope you'll upload some photos from your cruise! Sounds like fun and a great way to celebrate an anniversary.

I just finished babysitting Happy and Jeep, who belong to one of my good friends here. Happy is a Border Collie was OCD, and Jeep is a Sheltie/Shiba Inu mix. Beginning Thursday, I am taking care of Zoli, a Vizsla who was Sophie's good friend (and mine), for a week. I think it's good prep for my cat Theo because at some point I'll get another dog.

Morgan - please upload some photos from south of the border - I think everyone would enjoy seeing the latest in the Transformer Chronicles!

Love to all,
Anne

Happy July to All!

Hello,

Hunter and Cindy - we are happy that things are going well and hope that Hunter feels better each day. Our love to each of you, Drew and Morgan.

Our life is not too exciting, but this summer seems to be passing us by pretty fast. After school was out for me, we went to Va. Beach to spend a little time with Evelyn and then to Va. Tech to help Kerry change apartments. She will be starting Graduate School at Tech. Thomas is in Korea until next spring and after that time, we are not sure. He seems to like his job there and having the opportunity to fly more. Tom and I are celebrating our anniversary (33rd) on 7/26. We plan to go on a cruise in August.

Love to each and all,
Fran and Tom Potter

Hello All. I seem to lead a pretty dull life just going to work, church, raising kids, etc. But I will try to drop some details of what is going on in Savannah from time to time. Hunter had two home health nurses visit today. He seems to be progressing with his recovery. His follow-up at Mayo is scheduled for July 30th. He will have 4 appointments that day. One doctor at Mayo has advised that chemo would not be needed after surgery if the cancer is removed and the pathology reports are clear. The doctor in Savannah is pushing for Hunter to take 5-1/2 months of chemo regardless. So, more talk and decisions must be made on that issue. Morgan left with the church youth group this afternoon for a mission trip to Mexico. Hopefully he will get as much out of their efforts as will be received by the needy. Drew is on his way from Athens (GA) to Savannah for the weekend. I would like to say thanks again to all for your thoughts, prayers, flowers, cards and calls during Hunter's surgery. All of your acts of kindness were so appreciated and we both thank all of you for being there for us. Friends, family and faith were the mainstays that got us through this. Hope all of you will take the time to keep us posted on your happenings. Since we all live so far apart, perhaps this will catch on and truly be a place to keep in touch! Cindy

Back from Savannah

Got back last night from GA. Hunter is on the mend, though it's probably going slower than he'd like. Drew was there for the weekend, and he and Morgan helped usher me into the 21st century by creating this blog and helping me get established on Facebook.

Today is my father's birthday - please join me in wishing him a "happy birthday" in heaven (although I imagine God has already made sure he's had a good one!).

I hope you'll join us in this new endeavor - I'd really love to get to keep in touch, and I am hopeful this will be a way for us to do just that. I kind of think of it as one-stop Lupton info.

I've been visiting Hunter following his surgery, and Drew came down from Athens with his girlfriend Katie for the weekend. Drew, Morgan, and I have been working all night on setting this blog up; so please use it!!!

Love,
Anne
